Mutacosm attempts to recreate the mutating environments of AI via a recombinatory, generative digital. The texts of this poem include more than only words. It uses sound to build mood and environments, images for aesthetic, poetic intent and poetry markers, interactive animation for poetic meaning and overall design, among other elements.
The work attempts to place more-than-human animals, centrally important plants, above the roles of humans and human-made machines. Every 45 seconds the work regenerates itself. The sounds, the four image nodes, the moving and mouse responsive text, the poetic lines, central image, colors etc are all dynamically created. The work continuously mutates.
Mutacosm is forever evolving digital poem, with directed constraints. It’s about AI’s mutating powers and their creative possibilities, made visible through all elements of the work recombining every 45 seconds. Mutacosm wonders how humans, animals (more than human creatures), digital technology and plants might intersect and intertwine in a future where AI makes such recombinatory amalgamations possible.
