LATEX, LEATHER, LIPSTICK, LOVE, LUST (abbreviated to SEXTUPLE L) is an interactive fiction piece following a “chronically online” trans guy going to a kink club for the first time, thinking it will fix him. It doesn’t. Content warnings (see in-game list under “PERVERSIONS”) recommended.
SEXTUPLE L looks to be a snapshot of the current culture and discourse found in internet spaces in 2024. This game seeks to tell this story from the perspective of the trans community, or more, the “community” of trans people who are isolated through factors of post-covid pandemic, social anxiety in varying forms, and the worry of not being “correctly” trans to the point they’re too paralysed to engage in the in-person community first hand. I consider this game to be semi-autobiographical.
This is all done through a story that is deliberately transgressive, explicit, and does not make any concessions with how it depicts its characters, not feeling a need to soften or dull down actual realities of trans and queer lives, with a humourous bent over how pointless queer “discourse” is in the face of larger oppression, and being self-aware about how anxiety changes one’s behaviour against rational thought. SEXTUPLE L features multiple sections of standard prose, stream of consciousness, text message logs, Discord chats, and fake Tumblr posts to tell a digital story in a digital-first manner, with dynamic branching based on player choice, funnelling into a bad or a good ending.
SEXTUPLE L is currently published under an anonymous moniker, which I will be publicly claiming in mid-October. I am able to offer proof of authorship of the game before this date if required.
