Flesh & Blood

Andy CampbellOpening Up

“Flesh & Blood” is an interactive digital fiction that places the reader inside a psychological tale of memory, loss, and the body. Developed with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, it combines text, visuals, and sound into a unified narrative.

The story unfolds along a non-linear path, inviting readers to explore surreal environments and solve puzzles that require direct interaction with the world’s fragmented reality.

Atmosphere is central: custom typographic effects, animations, video, and audio combine to create a pervasive sense of unease. The story itself shifts in style and structure, reflecting the instability of the protagonist’s experience and reinforcing the disorienting mood.

A dedicated settings screen allows readers to adjust text, visual, and audio elements to support accessibility and personal preference. It also offers two reading modes: short, for those who prefer to focus on the visuals, and long, for those who want a more extended reading experience.
