“Under the Same Sky” is a 38-minute immersive documentary that places viewers inside Gaza through 360-degree virtual reality. Filmed during the war with VR cameras, the work transforms traditional reporting into an embodied experience: audiences are not simply told about daily survival under siege—they stand in the streets, enter shelters, and witness resilience in real time.
Unlike linear film, the VR format demands active engagement: viewers turn their heads, choose where to look, and absorb layers of sound, movement, and testimony at their own pace. The narrative was designed specifically for headsets, blending scene-based storytelling with carefully placed voiceover cues to guide attention without controlling it.
The piece also integrates creative use of space: statistics and context appear as graffiti on destroyed buildings, situating facts within the environment itself. This mix of journalism, immersive design, and participatory viewing makes the film both a record and an act of witness.
At its heart is Sami’s story—forced to leave Gaza but determined to carry its memory. His camera captures not only devastation but also endurance: parents protecting children, doctors improvising care, and journalists risking their lives to document truth.
